Deandra Jones, LCPC
Clinical Director, Mental Health Therapist
Ages: Children, Adolescents, Adults, Families
Licensed: Maryland & Colorado
Deandra Jones is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Maryland and Colorado. She obtained an undergraduate degree from the University of Delaware where she majored in Psychology with a minor in Human Development and Family studies. With a growing curiosity for human behavior and a passion to help others, she pursued her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. During her graduate internship, she worked with adults presenting with a diverse range of needs in the Charlotte area. Upon graduation, she sought out a position at one of the top general Hospitals in the United States, renowned for its mental health and psychiatric services. This experience allowed her to work with children, adolescents, and young adults ages 6 - 22 years old, alongside their families. She helped clients who presented with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and other mood disorders. Deandra brings these quality experiences into the private practice setting and continues to expand on her expertises as a mental health therapist.
Therapeutic Approach
As a therapist, Deandra aims to inspire enthusiasm and provide a fresh mindset towards change. Deandra's approach emphasizes collaboration between the client, family, and herself. She is dedicated to helping her clients make lasting changes through evidence-based interventions. Understanding that everyone's needs and experiences are different, she takes a Person-Centered approach to tailor her therapeutic treatment. Deandra utilizes a combination of techniques, including the Gottman Method when working with couples, to build a strong therapeutic connection with each individual. With her passionate and dedicated attitude, she will empower each person to take control over their own life. For children and adolescents, she empowers parents with knowledge to support their child's journey while fostering independence and confidence in the child's desired life. With couples, she creates a safe space where both individuals feel heard, understood, and motivated to face challenges together as equal partners instead of opponents. This ensures that she can effectively address each client's unique needs, while taking into consideration any past trauma and other contextual factors. Deandra's use of research-based treatment and proven strategies, along with her sensitivity to a person's background and potential trauma history, is essential in achieving successful outcomes.

In addition to her therapeutic approach, Deandra takes a holistic view of wellness by incorporating creative and expressive activities such as art and play into her practice. This allows for new perspectives and opportunities for clients to explore their feelings beyond the traditional therapy setting. By actively engaging clients in this way, she strives to help them gain valuable insight into themselves and their relationships. Deandra is an energetic and passionate advocate for her clients, and she genuinely strives to provide quality care in a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment. She believes that each of us is capable of growth and change, regardless of the situation.
Taking that first step towards seeking help and support can be difficult. Deandra's mission is to support and empower individuals in times of transition and growth by helping them identify solutions that will bring lasting change. She looks forward to working with you and helping gain the skills necessary to live a successful and balanced life.
